When time allows, I love playing along with the Global Design Project. Each week there is a different challenge using either a sketch, a theme, a colour selection or case the designer. This week we are caseing the talented Teneale Williams, its my first time caseing a designer and Teneale happens to be one of my favourite designers!

Today I am using the It's a Celebration stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Autumn Winter catalogue. I've not seen a stamp set like this before, so it was always going to end up being in my preorder. I don't know why but I always seem to be attracted to sets that we don't typically use in the UK... I would love to know, do you send Happy New Year cards?

The only occasion I have ever sent a Happy New Year card was in 2009. We were going on holiday to America and we were in New York for New Years Eve. With the call charges being so expensive in America, I decided to get some cards printed beforehand and I sent these out to all of our close family a few days after Christmas to wish them all a Happy New Year. I can't remember which website I used but the card had a picture of Macy's shopping centre with the Christmas lights on the front. The card was so cool and hopefully it made up for the fact that we couldn't personally wish our family a happy new year.

The fireworks on my card are heat embossed in gold and clear however they would look equally as fab in bright colours. I love heat embossing, the sentiment in particular stands out so much better. This one has been stamped in black ink and embossed in clear powder.

I've entered this card into our Pinkies Team Design Challenge as well. My upline Michelle Last is running the competition over on her blog. The challenge is to use heat embossing techniques. Voting starts on Tuesday 13th September, I'll post a link on my facebook page when it's gone live.
