In the UK we don't celebrate Halloween to the same extremes as places like America, so a Halloween card is not something we would usually make. With lots of Halloween parties now being arranged, I think my project today would be perfect for a Halloween party invitation.
It was really difficult to get a sharp photograph of this card and I think its because of all the white space, these pictures were my third attempt so, they are what they are and hopefully so you see what I was trying to achieve.
To make this card I sponged the background using Tangerine Tango ink. I used sticky notes to mask the area which allowed me to have perfect straight lines.
I die cut the tree using the Halloween Scenes Edgelit Dies twice, once in Basic Black and once in Whisper White. I layered the Whisper White underneath, slightly to the side - I think this gives it a striking look over the sponged background and I am really pleased with how it turned out. I then added some Foam Adhesive Strips to the back of the tree so it added some dimension to the card.
Using the Spooky Fun stamp set I stamped 3 bats around the tree, it was important that the tree was in place before I did this as I wanted the bats to really stand out. I then stamped the sentiment "have some spooky fun" onto Whisper White and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch. I wasn't sure about this punch but I have certainly warmed to it and think I will be using it a lot more now.
There are lots of great Halloween themed products in our catalogue this year. Here are a few sneeky peeks from the new catalogue (click on the picture to enlarge it for a closer a look).
Crafting is all about having fun and letting people know you care with lovely handmade things. Why don't you see how you can incorporate something Halloween themed into your life this year. Last year I made 17 Halloween treat bags for my team at work. You could make Halloween invitations, Halloween games, Halloween decorations, the possibilities are endless!
I hope you enjoyed my project today! Make sure you leave a comment to let me know you stopped by! Next we have Jerim's blog and she has created something awesome for you. Click on the Next Blog button below to keep on hopping round all of our blogs until you get back to mine.
Have a great bank holiday weekend whatever you are doing! I am going to a health spa for a little me time and I can't wait!

#GDP50 Sketch challenge using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlit Dies by Stampin' Up!
Wednesday, August 24, 2016 Somerset, UK
The first challenge is a sketch challenge. My card layout has been based on the sketch below over at the Global Design Project #GDP50.
Second of all, Kylie Bertucci is running a another Blog Highlight competition where her blog readers will be voting on all of the projects entered for a chance to take part in one of Kylie's future International Blog Hops.
Voting starts on Friday 26th August at 9:30am BST. I will be posting the link on my Facebook page and Twitter, after it has gone live.
I really liked the sketch in this week's challenge. I also loved how the designers have interpreted this into their designs over at the Global Design Project - however it took me a while to get started. After a few attempts, this is what I have come up with.!
The main colours used are Basic Gray and Melon Mambo. I love this combination - I almost went with Rose Red instead but I felt Melon Mambo worked much better. I decorated the inside too, which I sometimes forget to do!
I felt the card was still missing something however it was soon complete after I added the Silver Glitter Ribbon and die cut "congratulations" from Melon Mambo cardstock.
I am excited that I will be sending this card to a few of my new subscribers that joined my notification list after I ran a recent giveaway. I hope they enjoy receiving these cards and the kits for the balloon card!
Thanks for taking the time to look at my project and my blog. Back on Thursday with the Pinkies Blog Hop.
Just a quick card from me today. I made this card for a friend of mine called Bhavana (aka Baz) who turned 50 a few weeks ago.
Baz is a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator and part of the Pinkies team I belong to so I just had to make her a hand stamped handmade card. I hope she had a lovely week of celebrations!
I wanted to stamp my own background using the stars from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set and after several attempts I decided on this sideways ombre effect using Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum & Wisteria Wonder. I love this effect and can't wait to use it again!
I then die cut stars in Vellum, Silver Glimmer Paper and Silver Foil Sheet and layered them together before add the number 50 die cut from Perfect Plum cardstock using the Large Numbers Framelit Dies. I popped this up using Stampin' Dimensions, stamped Happy Birthday inside the card and my card was finished. I really hope Baz liked it!
International Blog Hop - A Bunch of Balloons Birthday Cards + Make & Take Kit Giveaway!

Today I am joining a group of demonstrators from around the world to show you ideas and inspiration using the latest Stampin' Up!® products that are available to purchase right now.
You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog or you may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you can see all of the projects.
If you live in the UK, I would love to assist you with purchasing Stampin' Up!® products or help you with any questions you may have.
My project today features the Balloon Builders photopolymer stamp set and the coordinating Balloon Bouquet punch.
There is so much inspiration on Pinterest, which is right where I looked when creating this project. My inspiration is taken from a number of cards - click here to see cards on Pinterest made using this stamp set.
This project was actually designed for a make and take that I created for a group of 40+ fellow demonstrators at a crafty weekend in Birmingham held by my upline Michelle Last. We had so much fun. There were 6 make and takes altogether and we had 3 hours to make them - time certainly flies when you are having fun!
I've made two versions of this card so you can see how versatile the design is by just using different colours and accessories.
I've used Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride & Watermelon Wonder, a watercolour background using Pink Pirouette, coordinating Subtles Enamel Shapes and Cooper Metallic Thread. For the other card I have used Soft Sky, Pool Party and Island Indigo, a watercolour background using Soft Sky, coordinating Subtles Enamel Shapes and Silver Metallic Thread.
I hope you've enjoyed my project today. For a chance to win a free kit to make this card, please subscribe to receive my blog posts by clicking here. On 13th August I will randomly select two new subscribers plus one existing subscriber to receive the kit. All you will need is adhesive to put it all together!
