I hope you enjoyed the weekend and Saturdays Blog Hop to celebrate World Card Making Day 2015.
I love taking part in the blog hops and I can't believe that was my 8th Blog Hop since my blog went live in July 2014. Its great having the opportunity to showcase my work alongside talented demonstrators. I regularly find inspiration from them and love seeing techniques I've never tried before.
After looking at everyone's cards on yesterdays blog hop, I now need to try the Bokeh technique and also stamping over an embossed image.
I wasn't sure what to do with this background stamp so I decided just to stamp the image onto Whisper White cardstock and take it from there. I chose Marina Mist ink. When I think of lined note pads this colour immediately came to mind.
Seeing the image stamped onto the cardstock, I decided not to go overboard with any other stamping or embellishments as I really liked the look as it was. It reminded me of simple cards you might find in somewhere like Paperchase.
I stamped the sentiment True Friend from the Endless Thanks stamp set between the lines of the note pad, the photopolymer stamps made it really easy to position the stamp. I then added Thank You from the same stamp set at the top.
I still really feel it needs something else but I am not sure what. Perhaps a flower or butterfly in the bottom right hand corner?
I stamped the lined image inside the card as well. I thought it would be nice to write a personal note within image (although I am not sure if my handwriting is small or neat enough to fit between the lines).
I hope you enjoyed my project today. I'd love to know what you would do with this stamp set! or what you would add to my card....please leave a comment as I would love to know your opinion.
Hi everyone! Sorry its been a bit quiet recently, I've been working on my new website layout and its finally gone live. I hope you like it?
I've still got some work to do so watch this space over the next few weeks as my gallery page and new menu layout go live.
I've had lots of time in my craft room over the last few weeks as well, playing with new products from the new Annual Catalogue and the upcoming Autumn/Winter Catalogue. I'll be posting regularly again so get ready for some Halloween & Christmas themed projects alongside another Series showcasing the simply stunning Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper.
So here we go, here are two thank you cards I've made using paper from the new 6" x 6" Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack.
This card has a Chocolate Chip base and a layer of Mint Macaron DSP, which I've aged using Sahara Sand ink round the edges. I've used the One Big Meaning stamp set to stamp the sentiment in
Chocolate Chip ink. I've then used the flowers and leaves from the Endless Thanks photopolymer stamp set underneath the sentiment in Mint Macaron and Chocolate Chip ink, to coordinate with the cardstock and paper used.
This card is exactly the same except for the colours I've used. It has a Basic Gray base and a layer of Old Olive DSP, which I've aged using Smokey Slate ink round the edges. I've used Basic Gray to stamp the sentiment and the flowers and leaves are stamped in Old Olive and Basic Gray ink.
I would love hear from you to find out what you think of my new website & also the cards featured in today's project. Happy crafting!
