Timeless Elegant Butterfly with the Global Design Project #GDP030

Monday, April 4, 2016

I'm back, its been a little quiet on the crafting front as I took a week off work to do DIY at home, unfortunately I've had a a bit of a severe reaction to some of the chemicals from either the paint, scotchguard or my new carpet and for the last week I've had a terrible rash on my face that I am now being treated for. I just hope it clears up soon as On Stage Local (the Stampin' Up! UK event) is on next Saturday 16th April and I'm going to be meeting up with lots of people. Anyway, positive thoughts, it WILL get better....
To kick start things off I have made a card for today's sketch challenge on the #GDP030 Global Design Project. I love a good sketch to get me back into creative mode. I hope you like my design, I've omitted a greeting as this card could be used for a number of different occasions, so I will add my sentiment when I've chosen who to send it to!

All the supplies I've used are by Stampin' Up!. If you want to order any of the products, please let me know. If you are wondering where I got the lace from, its the Sahara Sand Lace Trim. I've used a sponge and some Black Ink to change the colour to work with my design.

Please do leave a comment to let me know you stopped by! Also, check out the links on the left hand side where you can subscribe to receive my blog updates and also my newsletter.

Coming up over the next few weeks I have a great Wedding card to show you plus swaps and gifts I am making for On Stage Local in Telford. The excitement is setting in now, I can't wait to see the new catalogue and play with some of the products!

Thank You, You Wonderful Thing You - Theme Challenge with the Global Design Project #GDP027

Tuesday, March 15, 2016

There is a theme challenge over at the Global Design Project this week and theme is Thank You.

I'm a bit limited with time this week so I thought it was the perfect occasion to show you this cute card and gift bag that I made a few weeks ago but hadn't had a opportunity to blog about yet. Its now officially my entry into challege #GDP027

After looking through the It's My Party Designer Series Paper Stack from the Spring/Summer Catalogue, I decided that I just had to use the paper with stars all over. I also love the colour Melon Mambo so with all of this I mind, I created this fun card and matching mini gift bag, with DSP as the main focus.

The sentiment I chose Thank You, You Wonderful Thing You from the You're So Lovely Stamp Set was perfect and as an added bonus it also fit within the tag I punched out using the Note Tag Punch.

I also made a gold version of the card and gift bag but I think the silver is definitely my favourite with this colourway.

If you get a chance, come and play along. Full instructions can be found here.

Please vote for my thank you card showcased in Kylie's international blog highlight!

Friday, March 11, 2016 Somerset, UK

I'm so excited to be taking part in Kylie Bertucci's International Stampin' Up! Blog Highlight today!

Kylie is fantastic at bringing demonstrators and crafters together and showcasing their talents. Its lovely to see women supporting each other, especially seeing it was International Women's day earlier this week!

The theme of today's Blog Highlight is Thank You. Crafters from all over the world will be voting for their favourite projects showcased on Kylie's blog.

My project is a matching set of cards and gifts bags that I made to say thank you to attendees at my very first craft workshop. The gift bags contained an assortment of chocolates, needless to say they were gone in no time!

To see pictures from the workshop and the coordinating projects we made for Mothers Day, please click here!

The cards and gift bags were really fun to make and with their Blushing Bride base, I had the perfect opportunity to use the new Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper for the matt.

I used Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride and Rose Red ink and the Watercolour Wings, Watercolour Thank You and Timeless Textures stamp sets to stamp the design on the front of the card and the gift bags.

I even made coordinating tool kits - how cute are these?

Inside each thank you card was a gift tag numbered 1, 2, 3 or 4 made with the Number of Years stamp set, the Large Numbers Framelits Dies and the Ornate Tag Topper Punch.

I placed the four cards down on the four tables randomly and the guest who had number 1, won the Watercolour Wishes Card Kit! No-one walked away empty handed though, the other three guests all took home enough supplies to make 3 cards from the You're So Lovely Project Kit!

Please vote for me!

I hope you've enjoyed looking at my projects today! I would be so happy if you could vote for me by clicking here to visit Kylie's website.

To vote, all you need to do is click the heart symbol in the top right hand corner of the photo. You can place 5 votes in total and it would absolutely make my day if you choose my card as one of your top 5.

If my card receives enough votes to make it into the overall top 5, I will get a chance to take part in Kylie's international blog hop!
