It's Christmas Eve and here is my penultimate Christmas card idea I'm sharing with you!
You've probably seen a million versions of this card as the dies have been available for almost a year and a half now.
Unfortunately I wasn't blogging this time last year so I didn't share any of the cards I made using the these dies.
I have to say the Snow Globe Scene dies, the Snow Globe Domes and the Feels Like Frost DSP are some of my favourite products EVER and I will certainly be keeping them and stocking up on the domes before they retire.
I'll be honest with you though, I'm not at all keen on the Still Scenes stamp set that goes with these dies (I don't even own it) but I do have the Zoo Globe stamp set and plan on sharing projects created with it next year.
So why am I sharing it today? Well, I wanted to share it for me. So that when I am looking back at my blog in the years to come, I can be reminded exactly how much I've loved creating with it.
My blog is like my diary of my papercrafting memories ❤ It's fun to look back to see how my style has evolved, how my photography has improved and also to recall some of my favourite products (Butterfly dies and Timeless Elegance DSP are two that spring to mind)

This year has been like no other. Despite this, the crafting community has continued to flourish with lots of new crafters discovering the joy of creating handmade crafts of many kinds.
For me, there is nothing like the joy I get from creating and without this, I know this year would have been much tougher.
This wonderful hobby has undoubtedly helped so many get through these difficult times and create a positive distraction from the terrible consequences this virus has had on the world and life as we know it.
Thank you to everyone who has visited my blog including my lovely subscribers, I'm so thankful for you taking the time to visit Handmade by Kim. I hope you enjoy my projects and having access to even more ideas when I'm blog hopping with papercrafters from all of the world.

The build up to Christmas can be absolutely crazy for some, personally I set myself way too much to do and I've worked so hard the last month to get it all done - and now I'm exhausted. Yes, it's totally self inflicted but after a year like this one, I wanted to make this Christmas special.
I just wanted to share that it is totally okay to make simple, easy to recreate Christmas cards. Take some pressure off and find a design which works when creating multiples. Whilst this is not one of my mass created Christmas cards, it could easily have been.
I have however added a Wink of Stella sparkle to the frosty flowers and I have also scattered a few Frosted Epoxy Gems, which are perfect for this frosty card.

But I can relax now, the Christmas cards were posted a good few days before the last posting date and my parcels have arrived with their recipients. My turkey is at the butchers waiting for me to collect (here's hoping I don't forget) and all the presents are wrapped!
Followers of my blog will know that I am not shy about posting simple cards - my moto is less is more! I love working on complex fancy fold or 3D cards too, just not all the time.
I feel that sometimes adding more creates unnecessary distractions - and today's card is a prime example of this. This Feels Like Frost patterned paper is so beautiful, adding anything else is just not necessary.
I have however added a Wink of Stella sparkle to the frosty flowers and I have also scattered a few Frosted Epoxy Gems, which are perfect for this frosty card.
I've finished the card with a touch of heat embossing in white using the 'Celebrate the season' sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set.

My So Many Snowflakes Spinner card is just perfect for this weeks Global Design Project Theme - Winter / Holiday!

I've never made a spinner card before, I got the idea from Lucy Tustain following a card swap that took place at the #PinkiesRetreat2020.
Lucy's card inspired me to give it this style card a try. I love how twisting the string creates movement so simply. To check out Lucy's card, click here
Using the Feels Like Frost patterned paper, I've created an extended snowy forest scene by lining up two pieces of DSP together.
I took some time to do this so that the folded image matches up to the image on the inside of the card when folded flat
I die cut two snowflakes from the beautiful Balmy Blue Gimmer Paper for my centrepiece and added a Blue Adhesive Backed Gem to the centre on each side.
I'm so going to miss that glimmer paper..... but don't worry, I've got some stashed :)
I positioned a white circle (dry embossed with the Subtles Embossing Folder) so the snowflake stands out better.
This wasn't essential but I preferred it like this.
I heat embossed in white the Special Delivery sentiment from the Wishes and Wonder stamp set. I wanted the sentiment to be subtle, to not distract from the beautiful winter scene.

My Christmas Organiser holds a bunch of gift tags, a shopping list and a printable Christmas card list (not pictured) and doubles up as a decorative item, which can be displayed as well as being pratical.
Understandably, I am unable to share with you today how I created this project as it was designed for those who paid to attend Michelle Lasts Pinkies Retreat.
It is entirely my own design. It was my intention to create a unique make and take, that could be adapted for different themes and occasions and created with a variety of patterned paper and coordinating Stampin' Up! products, without needing a specific stamp set. It was an absolute joy to see some of the 114 attendees create my project and make it their own!
A 1/4 pack of the Feels Like Frost DSP was included in the make and take kit along with everything else required to make this project. The patterned paper provided was enough to make both of my make and takes - the second project being my Special Occasion Wreath, which I have already shared on my blog. To create my Christmas Organiser I used the beautiful Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper, Wishes and Wonder Bundle and Snow Globe Scene dies.
In real life, the white and silver design looks beautiful but unfortunately it's incredibly difficult to capture exactly how it looks photography.

Understandably, I am unable to share with you today how I created this project as it was designed for those who paid to attend Michelle Lasts Pinkies Retreat.

At first glance, you may think I have created a Christmas card, however, these are thank you cards!
I think they are perfect to send to those who have kindly gifted you or your family with a Christmas present, or perhaps just as a thank you during those wintery months.
These thank you cards are the perfect design to mass create.
They are so simple to put together but equally still feel that little bit special due to the silver foil accents and silver embossing.
I've used the stunning Feels Like Frost DSP.
The wintery scenes are so beautiful - I love the bokeh dots in the images.
To get three cards out of one piece of 6"x 6" DSP, I've simply cut the patterned paper into 2" strips and then cut the height down to fit my card base.
I cut strips of silver foil to place either side of the DSP (there is no way I'd cut a piece of foil that large to sit behind the DSP. Thrifty crafters will know exactly what I mean!)
I chose a cardstock base that blended beautifully with the scene.
For the card above I used a Purple Posy and the card below I chose my favourite - that's right you guessed it - Seaside Spray!

Todays project is a paper covered wreath, beautifully styled in white and silver, suitable for a gift for a winter wedding in December.
Creating this wreath may feel slightly monotonous but after a while, it becomes therapeutic - well it did for me anyway!
It is the ideal project for using up lot's of paper scraps - plus I wanted to demonstrate that the beautiful Feels Like Frost DSP is definitely not just for Christmas.
I designed this Special Occasion Wreath as a make and take for Michelle Lasts Pinkies Retreat, which Michelle held virtually on 21st and 22nd November
It was so lovely to see the attendees make their own version using the 17cm flat backed foam wreath supplied in their retreat box - some used the Feels Like Frost DSP (also included in the kit) to decorate theirs and some substituted patterned paper from their own stash that reflected their personal taste ore closely.

I have a super simple and quick project for you today! I was going to create something more elaborate for this hop but I changed my mind after I saw this idea.
My friend Sasha Reade has an amazing YouTube channel and a week or two ago she released a video where her daughter Rosalie taught us how to make these tree decorations - you can check it out here. Well done Rosalie - great video and thanks for the inspiration ❤
All you need to do is cut 6 circles (you choose which size) and fold them in half. Then, very simply you glue each half circle to the next and then add a piece of ribbon or twine when you get to the last piece
I didn't want to use my Stampin' Up! twine as I am running a bit low so I used some silver twine I got with some baubles I recently purchased. Naturally, they were cut to the perfect length and I love that I was able to use them elsewhere.
This decoration is a great way to use up lots of scraps and perhaps the perfect project to make with young children?
I used my 1 1/2" Circle Punch to punch out these circles from my scraps of Feels Like Frost DSP and have added them to my craft room tree - I bought this tree from Wilkos last year and I loved it so much it has stayed up all year round!
While I am here, I thought I'd share some more of my Christmas decorations. The reason I didn't use the silver twine on my baubles is because I have to use hooks as I have a pop up tree that doesn't actually have branches.
This tree is great and doesn't take up too much space - although I do wish I had a tree with branches.
Why do I have this tree then? Well, my cats don't climb this one and they also can't sit it in either - which they used to do when they destroyed my last tree, many years ago. Little monkeys!!
I created the 'JINGLE' word in 2009 when we moved into this house - I spray painted wooden letters in silver and added silver glitter.
You may even recognise my wallpaper? It's the background I use for some of my photography. It's a brick design with silver glitter - thank you to my husband for agreeing to it when we redecorated 5 years ago. It's only on one wall and it was the first and only time I will ever put up wall paper - never again, I had 5 sockets to cut around and a gas pipe.
I bought these fab window cling snowflakes from Amazon (link here). I am just waiting on another pack to do the back windows. The great thing is you can use them again and again!
I just love how everything twinkles when the Christmas lights are on. I am not a girly girl at all but for some reason I love sparkle, I'm like a magpie
Don't worry, our study and the bedrooms and my craft room upstairs are a bit more colourful! I do love sticking to one or two colours as that's just my style. Everyone is different and it would be boring if we were all the same. What colours are your Christmas decorations this year?
Here is the wreath I decorated last week. The wreath is from Home Bargains and only cost £7.99. I added Christmas decorations I already had. The 'Peace' and 'Joy' I bought when I first moved out of my parents house when I was 20! Another 20 years on and I have found another way to display them - this makes me so happy!!

Retreat Swaps - Wishes & Wonder Shadow Box Card Tutorial

I was thrilled that Michelle invited me back as a designer. The best thing about being a designer is seeing how everyone interprets your idea and makes it their own, it's truly wonderful to see the ideas and creativity flowing.
I created 2 make and take projects for the retreat which I have shared on Instagram and Facebook.

Today I am sharing with you the last of 3 swaps I created for this event!
I joined three swap groups, each consisting of 5 people plus myself. Each swap group had a clear brief we had to follow, there was a large choice so I decided to go with these.
- Christmas group - a Christmas card
- DSP group - a card with patterned paper as the main focus
- Any Bundle group - a card created using any bundle, typically a stamp set and a die or punch
Naturally, we had to use current Stampin' Up! products!
I made six of each card and kept one for myself.
All three style cards I created are fancy fold Christmas cards and I have filmed a tutorial for each one.

Today's card was for the 'Any Bundle' swap group. I've created a Shadow Box card which usually is presented in a portrait orientation - however, I decided to mix things up a little and position it in a landscape setting.
The only stamps and dies I have used are from the Wishes and Wonder bundle, which includes the Wishes and Wonder stamp set and North Pole Wonder dies.
I also used this pattern from the beautiful Feels Like Frost DSP - this was perfect for my snowy sky background in the reindeer scene.
It's so difficult to capture how pretty the silver looks in these photographs, why not watch my video tutorial to see it in a better light
You'll see in my tutorial how I created every element on this card, including this silver embossed sentiment which you can see through this window.
