I always enjoy designing and making swaps and the best thing about these swaps, is that we got to swap in person. Check this out!!
My upline, the Pinkies team leader Michelle Last arranged our first team get together since the Coronavirus pandemic started. It was so lovely to see everyone on Sunday however, it was bittersweet as there were lots of the team missing. Still, it was a great first step into crafting as a group again and there were many precautions in place to keep each other safe.
Retreat Swaps - Wishes & Wonder Shadow Box Card Tutorial

I was thrilled that Michelle invited me back as a designer. The best thing about being a designer is seeing how everyone interprets your idea and makes it their own, it's truly wonderful to see the ideas and creativity flowing.
I created 2 make and take projects for the retreat which I have shared on Instagram and Facebook.

Today I am sharing with you the last of 3 swaps I created for this event!
I joined three swap groups, each consisting of 5 people plus myself. Each swap group had a clear brief we had to follow, there was a large choice so I decided to go with these.
- Christmas group - a Christmas card
- DSP group - a card with patterned paper as the main focus
- Any Bundle group - a card created using any bundle, typically a stamp set and a die or punch
Naturally, we had to use current Stampin' Up! products!
I made six of each card and kept one for myself.
All three style cards I created are fancy fold Christmas cards and I have filmed a tutorial for each one.

Today's card was for the 'Any Bundle' swap group. I've created a Shadow Box card which usually is presented in a portrait orientation - however, I decided to mix things up a little and position it in a landscape setting.
The only stamps and dies I have used are from the Wishes and Wonder bundle, which includes the Wishes and Wonder stamp set and North Pole Wonder dies.
I also used this pattern from the beautiful Feels Like Frost DSP - this was perfect for my snowy sky background in the reindeer scene.

Retreat Swaps - Snowflake Splendor Pop Out Gate Fold Tutorial

Myself and 114 other papercrafters, who are part of Michelle Lasts team of Stampin' Up! demonstrators called the Pinkies gathered together over the weekend at the Pinkies Retreat - virtually!
I was honoured that Michelle had invited me back as a designer and I created 2 make and take projects which I have shared on my Facebook page and Instagram. Fingers crossed they did not disappoint.

Today's card is the DSP swap - a Pop Out Gate Fold card featuring the Snowflake Splendor DSP and Snowflake Wishes bundle!
I've selected three DSP patterns that are quite similar and compliment each other!

- 4⅛” x 11”
- Score at 2 ¾”, 8 ¼”
- Flip paper over so that it is is in same orientation but on the other side
- Score at 5 ¼”, 5 ¾”
DSP panels
- Front - 2 ½” x 3 ⅞“ (quantity 2)
- Inside sides - 2 ½” x 3 ⅞“ (quantity 2)
- Inside middle - 2 ¼” x 3 ⅞” (quantity 2)
- Strip for centre - ¼” x 3 ⅞”

Today's card is for the Christmas swap - a Double Z Fold card featuring the Peace and Joy bundle and the Tag Buffet stamp set!
I used the colours Smoky Slate, Blushing Bride and Silver for my swaps!
In my video tutorial I've used an alternative colour combo - Pretty Peacock, Pool Party and Gold
You might notice there are some subtle speckles on the Smoky Slate - I've used Frost White Shimmer Paint for this.
On my alternative version, I used Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint but the speckles are way more prominent - make sure you watch my tutorial to check it out!
My card features a lot of heat embossing, I love adding these touches, especially on Christmas cards
The sentiments I've used on the smaller panels are from the Tag Buffet stamp set.

Have you heard of swaps?
Stampin' Up! demonstrators just love to swap at events to help inspire each other with alternative ways to use our products! It's a great way to collect samples to show customers too!
Typically, we make multiple handmade cards or a small 3D items like a box or a bag (using Stampin' Up! products available in the current catalogue). The swaps usually follow the same design. We then swap our design with other demonstrators.
At Stampin' Up! events you can choose how many swaps you make - for example, if you make 100, you could go home with 100 swaps made by 100 different demos!! Making about 70 swaps is usually my limit as you definitely don't want to be going home with any swaps left over.

Michelle Last holds a variety of team events for her group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators called the Pinkies. We have often swapped in large groups at the annual Birmingham event, however, there are a two events per year held in Milton Keynes where we swap in smaller groups of 6. Only having to make 5 swaps means we can spend time creating a more complex design. The swap I've made definitely meets that criteria!
This weekend Michelle Last has run her first virtual craft event called the Pinkies Retreat, this is in place of the Birmingham event which couldn't go ahead due to restrictions in place because of coronavirus and also for the safety of her team.
I chose to join a DSP swap group with 5 others - I have finally been able to see the other 5 today and they are stunning!
At the time of making my swaps we only had a small release of products from the annual catalogue so I chose the Flowers for Every Season DSP. These bright colours are not colours I usually work with - some of you may recall me saying that I have challenged myself to work with colours outside of my comfort zone to help me grow as a papercrafter, so I found these really fun to make!
The accordion fold style card is perfect for demonstrating how lovely our DSP is. Each of my five cards is unique and I've carefully chosen two DSP patterns that compliment each other. To do this I made sure I picked out a colour from the design on the front for the alternative pages.
I first saw this style card on Stampin' Up! demo Jan Brown's blog. You can check out her lovely version here - note that I haven't added as many layers as she has!
In my version I added a belly band to secure the card closed, instead of a ribbon.
I used the Playful Alphabet dies to create the Hey! statement which I've added on top of a label die cut using the Tasteful labels dies.
The ribbon wrapped around the belly band and under the sentiment is from the Flowers for Every Season combo pack. You get 3 rolls of ribbon in this pack!
Inside the card I've added some very simple stamping using the Lovely You stamp set and my 2020 - 2021 In Colour Markers. Markers are great to use to apply ink to your stamps should you not own the ink pads!
Did you notice I selected stamps that read out a message across all of the pages?
It reads: Hey! - Smile - Trust me you're lovely - Cherished friend
Before I did the stamping, I used the coordinating Lovely Labels Pick a Punch to punch out some labels. This punch is fab - there are 6 different style labels you can punch - you can choose whatever length you like, then you have a choice of 3 different widths. On top of that, there are two different end styles you can choose from.
Look out for a similar punch coming out in the forthcoming Mini Catalogue featuring Halloween, Autumn & Christmas products!! It's on my shopping list!

Floral Boutique Treat Bag Swap & My First YouTube Tutorial!

Tomorrow I am attending an event that my upline Michelle Last has arranged for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators in her downline. I'm really looking forward to it as I've not see my good friends Baz and Sasha since November and I can't wait to have a catch up with them. Of course I am looking forward to seeing everyone else and also to do some much needed crafting!! Michelle designs the most beautiful projects and its really nice to sit back and make something that someone else has designed.
I made a treat bag in this style back in December and I had lots of lovely people comment on my blog and email me asking for a tutorial. I am pleased to say that I have finally plucked up the courage and made a YouTube tutorial - I hope you like it and please do let me know by liking it or subscribing to my channel.
I designed this treat bag myself, I think its quite unusual as it has a square base and curved sides. Its super quick to make and its the perfect size to hold a few treats. From one pack of 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, you can make 48 of these bags!
To make this bag you need a 6" x 6" piece of Designer Series Paper and score as follows:
- Score at 1 3/8"
- Turn paper clockwise
- Score at 1 3/8" (only to the score line)
- Score at 2 3/4"
- Score at 4 1/8" (only to the score line)
- Score at 5 1/2"

The weekend before last was the Stampin' Up! Onstage Local event in Telford. Its a mini convention where Stampin' Up! demos get together and find out about new products, receive business training, recognise each other success, receive free products and SWAP!
I decided to use products from the Stampin' Up! Autumn Winter Catalogue and I made 70 Candy Cane Lane Lotus Biscuit Christmas Hanging Tree Treats swaps. I got such a lovely range of swaps back and hopefully I will get a chance to share these with you. Maybe I might finally do a YouTube video?
The Candy Cane Lane Product Suite is just lovely. Whilst I usually favour non traditional colours at Christmas, the main colours featured in this suite, Crumb Cake and Real Red are just perfect to use for the swap idea I had. Early Espresso and Whisper White are also featured in this suite but I decided to use the side of the DSP that was mainly Crumb Cake so my swaps had a uniform look.
I used all of these products shown in the collage below to make my swaps - Read Red & Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Markers, Layering Oval Framelit Dies, Read Red & Whisper White cardstock, Real Red Stitched Edge Ribbon, Candy Cane Christmas stamp set and the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper. You can order all of these from my online shop 24/7.
To make my swap, I simply cut a piece of DSP long enough and wide enough that wrapped around the biscuit. I then stapled the ribbon around the centre of the long side. I then used Fast Fuse to adhere the DSP wrap to the biscuit.
I then used my Stampin' Write Markers to colour in the stamp. I loved the look shown in the catalogue using 2 different colours on the one stamp. It was totally worth the time it took! The trick is to breathe on the stamp after you've coloured in stamp to reactivate the ink. I really enjoyed using this technique so I ordered the Regals & Subtles Marker packs in my recent order and I am looking forward to colouring stamps in again in the future.
Next I die cut the stamped image using the Layering Ovals dies. I layered the Whisper White oval on top of Real Red Cardstock, using the scallop oval die from the same set. I then used Stampin' Dimensionals to attach it to the front of the biscuit, hiding the staples I used to make sure the ribbon stayed put.
If you don't know what Lotus biscuits are, here is a picture of them. You can buy packs of 20 inexpensively on Amazon and from pound stores. You might have had one or two of these biscuits on the side of a hot drink in a coffee shop - I don't know anyone who doesn't like these so I hope everyone enjoyed receiving one of these as my swap.
I've put together a collage of some photos from Onstage Local in Telford. Here are me and my friends Aimee, Baz & Sasha - we had a great time and I can't wait until the next event. As well as attending this event, we all attended an craft afternoon arranged by Sarah Berry the day before. We all went to Nandos in the evening and chatted the evening away with friends old and new, it was lovely but there might have been too much red wine consumed!

I was also excited to be recognised for having recruited a team member in 2016. You don't get to walk the stage but you do get to stand up and be cheered on by fellow demos and receive a ribbon to attach to your badge. I am a hobby demo at heart but I am pleased Aimee decided to join my team in February during Sale-a-Bration and would love to welcome more team members. Aimee became a qualified recruit a few months ago and is enjoying the journey she has taken with Stampin' Up! This was her first Stampin' Up! event and I made a little gift for Aimee to recognise her becoming a qualified recruit. This will be featuring on my blog very soon.
