Today's card is a sympathy card. The choice of stamps in the Crazy About You stamp set allows you to put together combinations of words you don't always have available as one complete sentiment. For example, stamp sets only usually have the sentiment Thinking Of You but with this set I was able to make the sentiment Thinking Of All Of You, which works so much better when sending a card to more than one person.
To make this card, I used the Hardwood stamp set for the wood effect background stamped in Staz On Black Ink onto Kraft cardstock. I also used the Kinda Eclectic stamp set for the leaves, also stamped in Staz On Black Ink. I added a layer of Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper before mounting it onto Basic Black cardstock. To finish it off, I added a die cut butterfly in black from the Butterflies Thinlits Dies.
My sixth project is a notecard handstamped with a lovely sentitment enclosed in a paper bag,
I diecut the paper bag using my Big Shot machine and the Mini Treat Bag Thinlets Die.
I used Naturals Ivory cardstock for the notecard and punched out the detail at the top using the Spiral Border Punch
I stamped the outside of the bag using the Butterfly stamps from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set and I stamped the front of the notecard with the sentiment 'Laughter is the shortest distance between two people - Victor Borge'.

If you have ever been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator or perhaps part of a large craft group, you will have heard of cards swaps. It's something us Stampin' Up! Demonstrators like to do when we get together to learn new techniques or get new inspiration from each others work.
I wanted to show you my latest card swap today - a card front in Perfect Plum.
Swaps are where you make approximately 50 card fronts or tiny gift boxes and swap them with other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators for an alternative craft project. Not only do you get to mingle and talk crafts with other people, you also end up with 50 beautiful handmade items to take home!
I absolutely love swaps! I have a box full of about 100 from 3 different events and I have a good look through these when I am having a creative block.
A few weeks ago I spent the day with fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrators. After swapping and mingling we spent the rest of the day crafting, eating lovely cake and having a good natter.
Days like this are one of the best things about being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, you suddenly start meeting lots of people who all love crafting and who are more than willing to help and support each other.

Today's project was inspired by a gift I bought to say thank you to someone who quite simply made my Christmas Eve.
I received an unexpected package in the post and when I opened it, I was so stunned as I didn't think these kind gestures existed anymore. It was refreshing to receive such a thoughtful gift!
So for my gift in return, I bought this beautiful scented heart from Sainsburys and based the design of this card on the packaging. Don't you just love things that match?
I cut my card base from half a sheet of A4 Perfect Plum cardstock and then cut 2 pieces of Naturals White cardstock 1/4 inch smaller than the card base.
Using a piece of Naturals White cardstock and Crumb Cake ink, I stamped a sentiment from the Feel Goods stamp set in the centre of the cardstock which reads "those who bring sunshine into the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves".
I then used the leaves from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set to stamp around the edge in Perfect Plum ink.
I then sponged the edges on the Naturals White cardstock with Perfect Plum to remove any harsh lines before adhering the layer to the Perfect Plum card base.
For the inside of the card, I used the second piece of Naturals White cardstock and used a sentiment from the Lots of Thanks stamp set which reflected the message I wanted to send "to a thoughtful you from a thankful me".
I used the same technique on the envelope to carry the design through.

Today's card features a stamp set I have used before and by using different colour inks and
backgrounds, it shows how versatile this set is as all the designs look so different - take a look here at my previous post using this stamp set.
The summer is almost over and I want to make a card that was bright and cheerful and I think I've managed to achieve this.
If you search for Color Throwdown in Pinterest, you will get lots of suggestions for colour combinations which usually consist of 3 - 4 colours. Why don't you try a combination today that you wouldn't normally go for?
I wanted to show you today how you can really mix up the colour combinations and layouts using this stamp set and I have 4 examples for you that could be packaged as a set of 4 as a gift.
I've used Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo and Smokey Slate for this card. I love this version and I just couldn't bring myself to add the glittery butterfly that I made as I think its perfect as it is.
This is a colour combination that I really like but haven't used very much - its Chocolate Chip, Blushing Bride & Pear Pizazz.
The next version is very similar to a design by Michelle Last and uses Black Memento Ink, Crumb Cake & Sahara Sand. Click here to see Michelle's stunning version.
The final card uses Night of Navy and Pool Party ink. I also used Crumb Cake and Island Indigo for the card base and layer.
To make the glittery butterflies I stamped the image onto Whisper White cardstock. I used my versamark stamp pad directly over the image to ensure the surface area covering the butterfly was sticky. I then coated this area with heat and stick powder and heated it with my Heat Tool. Once this had glazed over I then covered the area again with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I used my heat gun again to set the glitter. To finish it off, I punched out the image using the Elegant Butterfly Punch and used Stampin’ Dimensionals® to pop the image up on the card.
