Here are my swaps from Onstage Local in Telford. I made 75 of these and luckily managed to swap with 75 ladies in less than an hour before the event kicked off. The registration started at 7:30am. I hate early starts but I was looking forward to the day so much that it was almost like getting up to go on holiday, you don't mind as you know that what follows will be amazing.
The swaps I made coordinate with the team swaps I made on my previous post. I wanted to make something similar but different as I needed something that I could make easily in a much larger quantity. Its always hard to make this volume. Some ladies made gift boxes and gift bags, which is a huge task. I know how time consuming that can be as I made gift boxes last year and hanging scent pockets the year before. Even though my swap this year is only a card front, it still took me a long time to make due to the die cutting. Overall for both sets of swaps, I die cut 100 butterflies. My friend Aimee kindly lent me the small butterfly from the Bold Butterfly framelits dies so I could run two dies through my big shot at the same time. Honestly, this saved me SO much time. Thanks Aimee!!
To keep with the theme of my other swap each butterfly was literally covered in Wink of Stella Glitter in clear and the edge of the basic black cardstock was coated with Wink of Stella Glitter in gold. This took quote a while but I think it was worth it in the end. The effect, I hope, was to make the card feel opulent and special.
I absolutely adore the font used in this sentiment from the stamp set For The New Two. This set is retiring so make sure you order it soon before the stock runs out.
As promised, here are some pictures from Onstage Local. Unfortunatley I don't have any photos of the ladies I sat but I had a fab time with them and loved sharing all of the excitement of the day together with them - thanks ladies!
This was one of several large screens where we watched recorded content from the Onstage Live event in the states. I even watched a presentation by Brandy Cox. I was quite excited (even though she wasn't actually there) as her YouTube videos were what first got me interested in Stampin' Up!
I loved the effort Stampin' Up! went to this year to make the tables look pretty. There was a real wow factor when we walked in.
We all received a canvas bag and in it was a stamp set from the new catalogue, a fabric zipped pencil case and a pack of pens. We also had a coloured badge for Prize Patrol!
I couldn't believe that we also got this great notebook & 6 month planner. Its so nice I don't think I can even write in it.
You can also see my new swap bag in this picture. It wad handmade by Divas Intuition who I found on Etsy. It's perfect for swapping. The swaps I made fit in it perfectly but I needed another bag for the swaps I received.
Here is a table of 3D swaps on display. I was lucky enough to receive some of these. I haven't had a chance yet but I am planning on filming a YouTube video of all of the swaps I received.
Here is a make and take that we made. This is a card from the Oh Happy Day Card Kit. I should be receiving the kit next week as part of my pre order. Pre ordering is just one of the benefits from being a demonstrator and from attending the event.

Stampin' Up! held their UK event called Onstage Local in Telford at the weekend, over 380 demos attended and it was truly an amazing day! We got to see the new catalogue and get an idea of what products were retiring. To see the retirement list, scroll down to the end of this post.
If you are a new follower or a new crafter, let me tell you all about what swaps are. Swaps are hand crafted card fronts or 3D items that you make multiples of to swap with others. The objective for this event was to use current product and showcase these in a design that others can use as inspiration or as samples to show to customers or take to events. At the same time you get to meet and mingle with lots of demos. Its such fun but its not compulsory! You get exactly what you put in, so if you make 100 swaps, you will come home with 100 swaps.
On the Friday before Onstage I attended an event in a hotel that was arranged by my upline Michelle Last. It was a lovely afternoon crafting, playing games and catching up with old friends and making new ones. For this event I made 25 of these swaps, one for all 24 demos attending and 1 for me to keep.
Most of the products I have used in this project are now retiring and I will be very sad to see the Timeless Elegance DSP go.... BUT I knew that would happen as all DSP retires every year. I know I have used it in my of my projects lately, one reason was to use up what I had left but the other reason was simply because I love it so much.
I'm actually quite excited to use the new DSP coming out and come up with some new designs! I am sure you will like to see something new from me too!
I really hope everyone liked my swaps. When I got home after a long drive on Saturday evening, I spent an hour looking through the swaps I received. My husband was after the chocolate that was contained in some of them but I am leaving them where they are at the moment as I am thinking of doing my first Youtube video to show all the swaps I received over the two events. In this photo I've tried to capture the glitter effect of the butterfly and sentiment but as usual its so hard to capture in a photograph. You can just about see the glitter on the butterfly in this photo. To achieve this look I have used the Wink of Stella glitter pen in clear on the Sahara Sand cardstock after I die cut the butterfly. For the sentiment I used my brayer to stain the wooden sentiment with Basic Black Archival Ink, allowed it to dry and then added glitter, again using the Wink of Stella glitter pen in clear. The whole effect is very sparkly. I also added glitter to the edges of the cardstock, for this I used the Wink of Stella Glitter pen in gold around the edge of the Basic Black cardstock
The retiring products from the 2015-16 Annual Catalogue and Spring Summer Catalogue are now live and showing in my online shop!
Every year products are retired in order to make way for brand new shiny products. I will be selling my retired products in June so if you are interested in seeing what I've got, please leave a comment or subscribe to my blog.
Now, if I could give you once piece of advice, it would be to have a look through the retiring items straight away and place an order for anything that you have had on your wishlist. Its important you do this as soon as you can as they can sell out very quickly and they are not manufacturing anymore of these items.
Last year I was going to order some transfer (adhesive) sheets and I waited a day and they were gone. Needless to say I have used the sheets I had left over very sparingly and when I run out I will be very sad as they are fab to use with intricate die cuts.

All I've been thinking since I've got back off holiday is Christmas. Christmas shopping. Christmas food. Christmas cards. And simply not having enough time to prepare. So I decided I needed a break. No, not another holiday! I just needed an hour in my craft room making a handmade card that wasn't Christmassey (yes, that's a word).
Okay, so I don't know anyone getting married, this year or next, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy spending some time making a wedding card.
Sometimes, when I craft for fun, I just pull out some cardstock and DSP in colours that I love. I choose which colours to combine, or simply stick to a single colour theme. I then cut and score my card base and add a layer or two.... I then think about what stamp set I am going to use and what is going to be the main feature of the card. I've had the Bird Builder Punch for well over a year and I have never used it. Having prepared my base, I knew I wanted something white in the centre of the card, so I used the Shimmery White cardstock to punch out the birds and added a small sentiment using the For The New Two stamp set.
I hope you enjoyed this project today. I love crafting for fun, make sure you find the time to do this as well as crafting for specific occasions or workshops. Sometimes when the pressure is off, creativity comes along natually.

A few months ago I made some wedding invitations for my husbands colleague and friend from his work. Ana & James wanted something very simple and gave me a brief which consisted of a image and the colours blue & pink. I prepared 3 very different designs for them and they chose the design which you can see featured in this post today.
I made a flat, two sided design with the key details of the day printed on the front in Whisper White cardstock and a fun poem printed on the back. I mounted this onto a layer of Blushing Bride cardstock and Night of Navy cardstock.
To present the invitations, I tied some Whisper White Organza Ribbon around the envelopes and made a simple tag using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch using Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the most perfect sentiment from the For The New Two stamp set "Wishing you both a very special day" in Staz On Black ink. Finally, I added a jewelled embellishment that I had left over from the Spring Summer catalogue, to complete this classic look.
Naturally I didn't want to showcase this project until after Ana & James wedding. I hope they both had a magical day. Both myself and my husband Phil wish them all the very best for the future.

Today's Wedding card showcases the beautiful lace effect paper from the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper and the stamp set For The New Two that can be found in the Annual Catalogue.
I gave the card a Sahara Sand Base and a Basic Black Layer. I then hand stamped the sentiment Congratulations to the Bride and Groom onto a piece of patterned paper (also included in the Timeless Elegance DSP pack) and die cut this into an oval shape with one of the Ovals Collection Framelit Dies. To introduce texture into the design I added some of the lovely Sahara Sand Lace Trim in front of the lace effect paper and behind the sentiment and tied a small bow.

Last weekend was the Pinkies annual trip to Birmingham where we spent 2 days crafting, chatting, eating and drinking - and swapping!
There were 35 of us going in total so I had to make the same number of swaps. Swaps are something us Stampin' Up! demonstrators like to do when we get together. You make 35 of the same thing and
you swap it in exchange for another handcrafted card front or 3D project. You end up with 35 unique projects to take home and use for inspiration or as samples at craft classes & events.I thought I would use the 2013-15 In Colour cardstock and ink to make the covered notebooks (the notebooks were such a bargain - 20p from Asda!).
The 2013-15 In Colours Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe & Coastal Cabana will be retiring soon and will be replaced with 5 brand new in colours. I do love some of these colours and will certainly miss Strawberry Slush & Coastal Cabana - but I can't wait to see what new colours Stampin' Up! come up with!!
I made 8 notebooks in each colour - that's 40 altogether. 35 to swap and 5 to keep for myself.

Inside the notebook you can see that I've added a small pocket by adding a piece of Naturals White cardstock.
I had a great weekend and here is a picture of me (2nd from the right) and my table mates (left to right, Tracy, Baz, Yvonne & Sasha). We had such a great time and I am glad I got to know these lovely ladies over the weekend.

I love to make & receive swaps and take the opportunity to look through my swaps every month or so to help inspire me to use different colour combinations and techniques. From 4 events I have attended since I became an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I now have over 125 swaps!

I've had a great weekend crafting in Birmingham for 2 days with 33 other Stampin' Up! demonstrators. I arrived on Friday evening and went for a yummy Thai meal at Chaophraya with 10 lovely ladies.
On Saturday morning we all arrived at the venue, set up the tables, put our samples on display and got ourselves ready for a full day of crafting.
I took these notecards and all of the other projects in this series as samples of my work and I was really touched that so many of my crafty friends had such lovely words to say about the set.
These notes cards fit inside the lid of the stationery tin that featured on Saturdays blog post. They are perfect for many different occasions and there is plenty of space to write a handwritten note.
It was so nice to see what projects everyone else had made so I made sure I took lots of photos. It was so great to get new ideas and look at colour combinations I wouldn't ordinarily use.
Once we had all arrived, we started off the day with a group game, I then attended a Punch Art class and afterwards another class to learn about how to effectively utilise programs and apps to assist us with our hobby or business.
We popped over the road to the Bull Ring to get some lunch and then spent the next part of the afternoon making the craft project that we could work on at leisure over the weekend.
After that we swapped cards and other 3D projects with one another and then ended the day by completing 4 make and takes - each project designed by a different person. Thanks to all the ladies who created the projects and prepped everything for 34 people! and also thank you to everyone for creating some really amazing swaps. Comeback on Friday to see the swaps I made and received.
At the end of a long day of crafting, 22 of us headed over to Jamie's Italian for dinner and we all enjoyed a free taster of Amalfi lemon & Westcombe ricotta gnudi and a shot glass of limoncello. Afterwards we headed back to the hotel to have a good nights sleep before another day of crafting.
On Sunday morning I carried on working on my project and then just before lunch I attended a class on working with the Stampin' Up! specialty papers than you can find on page 192 and 193 of the Annual catalogue. I discovered that I am going to have to work a lot harder on my water colouring technique but what a great excuse to add some Aqua Painters and Watercolour paper to my next order!
I spent the rest of the afternoon chatting and made sure I had completed all of the pieces needed to complete the project, so I could finish assembling it at home.
