I made this card for a lady in my team at work who did something so lovely for me. One day I went back to my desk after a meeting and on my desk was a Slimming World magazine and a pack of their yummy cereal bars.
She knew I was thinking of rejoining as I needed to not only lose weight for all of the normal reasons but also to help with a knee injury I've had since May. Her little nudge was just what I needed and I rejoined the next day. I've lost 1/2 stone so far and my knee is slowly improving with regular exercise and physio therapy. Any weight loss will also help so her helping me start to think about what I eat again was just the kindest gesture someone has made in a long time. Of course I wanted to say thank you and so I made this card for her. Thank you Jane!
I created my background using the classic old favourite stamp set Gorgeous Grunge. I stamped using Blushing Bride, Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum, Mint Macaron and Island Indigo. I love how handmade this looks yet its all stamping - the large ink blots are my favourite!
I created a layer of Perfect Plum cardstock and using Stampin' Dimensionals I added it to the front of my card at slight angle.
I then stamped my sentiment on Whisper White cardstock using Elegant Eggplant ink and again set it at a slight angle.
I've chosen the sentiment Thank you so much as I really like the phrase and also the size of this stamp as it can be the main feature of the card. The sentiment is from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set, as you can see you are spolit for choice with so many stamps.
I've also entered this card into the Global Design Project #GDP055 challenge using the theme Random Acts of Kindness. Jane's guesture really was a random act of kindness and the card I have made is basically saying thank you.
In the next few weeks I will start making some Christmas cards. I've had all the stamps and papers for a little while but as the weather was still warm I quite simply have not been thinking at all about Christmas yet. October is only a few days away so its time to get started, plan my swaps for an upcoming Stampin' Up! event and come up with some ideas for making large quantities of Christmas cards for my friends and family.

I really enjoyed making today's card! So much that I am entering it into two challenges!
First up we have the Global Design Project #GDP045. This weeks challenge is a colour challenge. I have to use the colours Basic Black, Smoky Slate & Melon Mambo in my project to be able to enter.
As soon as I saw this colour combination I knew I just had to enter. I love how Melon Mambo just pops when used with Basic Black.
The second challenge I am entering is Sarah Berry's Strawberry Sketches #SS02. This is a new sketch challenge in its second week and I plan to play along with this each week.
I love sketches, have I told you that? They really help kick start my creativity. Sketches are a guide, you don't have to copy them, all you have to do is loosely base your design on the layout suggested.
This really is a lovely sketch, I hope you can see how I've designed my card using this sketch.
To make this card I've used the Botanical Builders Framelit Diet for the flowers and the new Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies for the sentiment.
Can you see I've die cut the sentiment in both Basic Black and Melon Mambo. There's just a peep of Melon Mambo showing through underneath the Basic Black.
I've also used some Silver Metallic Thread underneath the flowers to add some further interest.
The spotty background is stamped in Smoky Slate and the stamp is from the Timeless Textures stamp set. The ink splodges are stamped in Melon Mambo and are from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.

I have made some cute but deadly Halloween Treat Bags to show you today. I think these would be perfect to hold some sweets or chocolates for you to give to your friends and family on All Hallows' Eve.
You can make your gift bags (or boxes) whatever size you want (as long as you don't need your paper to be bigger than 12" x 12"). I've used the fantastic Happy Haunting DSP again which I've already showcased twice in two different projects - my Halloween Party Invitations and another version of a Treat Bag.
I have stamped the deadly poison bottles from the Sweet Hauntings stamp set onto Basic Black cardstock using Whisper White Craft ink. I managed to do some fussy cutting to cut out the poison bottles by hand. I layered the cut out images on top of a Tangelo Twist Scallop Circle and a 2" Circle punched out of Very Vanilla Cardstock, already stamped with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set using Tangelo Twist ink & Basic Black Archival ink.
I also stamped a gravestone (aka note tag) using the same method but punched this out with my Note Tag Punch and attached this to secure the bag with a Mini Metallic Clothespin.

Welcome to another Pinkies Blog Hop! As it's World Card Making Day today, we hope everyone will get some time to craft, and we've created some lovely projects to help inspire you to create your own beautiful card. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping!
If you have arrived from Clare's blog, welcome! I am so happy to be sharing my Sparkling Watercolor Wings Butterfly card that I've created for you.
I made a similar card a few weeks ago but I decided to step up the design by adding more details to the background and adding some much needed sparkle.
To make the background I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. I started by stamping the splatter effect using Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum & Wisteria Wonder ink. Using the same stamps I then used Versa Mark ink to stamp more splatter effects.
Next I sprinkled Heat & Stick powder over the Versa Mark ink, tapped off the excess, then used the Heat Tool to make the powder tacky. I then sprinkled Silver Stampin' Glitter over the spots (again, tapping off the excess) and used the Heat Tool to set the glitter in place.
You can buy this stamp set as part of a bundle including the Bold Butterflies Framelit Dies. When you buy a bundle you save 15% of the combined price.
For this project I used the both the Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies and Butterflies Thinlit Dies to die cut the small and large butterflies. It was so simple and quick and by using these dies, its gives my finished card a more professional look.
For the inside of the card I used the the stamp set included within the Watercolor Wishes kit. I stamped the sentiment Happiest Birthday Wishes using Elegant Eggplant ink. I chose this stamp as I love the font but you can use any stamp set and sentiment of your choice.
Initially I couldn't decide whether to use Heat & Stick Powder & Stampin' Glitter or just Stampin' Emboss Powder. This version has been made using Island Indigo, Pool Party & Soft Sky ink and Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. The effect is not as glittery as my featured project but still has a beautiful shine when you catch it in the light.

You can make some truly beautiful cards with the Watercolour Wings Photopolymer Bundle. I have completely fallen in love with this set and I am now wondering why its taken me so long to use it?
There are so many possible colour combinations that you can use for your butterflies. Take a look at this blog to see pictures of some wonderful colour combinations that Heike Vass from Germany has put together.
For my butterflies I've used Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette & Rich Razzleberry.
I love the 2 step stamping method using the photopolymer stamps. Its so easy but if I could give you one tip today it would be this:
Don't stamp the body of the butterfly until after you've die cut the shape out in your Big Shot.
You can then line up the butterfly body stamp with the paper so that it's in exactly the right place. Its pretty much impossible to be able to stamp this perfectly beforehand. unless you are not die cutting your butterfly of course.
I tried a few different backgrounds with this card - various different Designer Series Papers and the leaves from Kinda Eclectic, but none of them was the look I was trying to achieve. I am so glad I picked up my Gorgeous Grunge stamp set as this was perfect. I stamped off to get a more subtle look and added some Rhinestones for a bit of sparkle.
I also love decorating the inside of cards. The sentiment on the front and inside of this card are both included in the Watercolour Wings stamp set. The fonts lovely and look great stamped in Rich Razzleberry on Whisper White cardstock.

I hope you have had a lovely bank holiday weekend! My husband was working on Saturday so I met up with my friend Mitchell for a cheeky hog roast roll and crackling at our local butchers then I met up with my friend Jaci in Taunton and went to the cinema to watch Guardians of the Galaxy (such a funny film!).
Yesterday, my husband Phil and I went to Bath for the afternoon for a spot of shopping and finished the day with a lovely meal at Jamie's Italian. Of course the British Weather couldn't last so thankfully we planned a day at home today.
I am going to head up to my craft room soon to spend a few hours playing with my new Christmas supplies! In a few days time, the new Autumn Winter Catalogue will be available so keep an eye on my blog for all the details and sneak peeks of the products.
I hope you like my project today. Its a set of thank you cards that I sent out recently. The edges of the white cardstock have been distressed and the flowers and butterflies have been placed randomly to give this a more relaxed feel.
I used Blackberry Bliss and Wisteria Wonder for the card on the left and Island Indigo and Soft Sky for the card below.
I used the stamp set Gorgeous Grunge for the background stamping and the Bitty Butterfly, Petite Petals & Itty Bitty Accents Punch for flowers and butterflies.
I punched out the larger of the two flowers onto whisper white cardstock and sponged the edges with the two colours I was using for each design. I just love this effect.
The butterflies and small flowers were punched out onto coloured cardstock, using the darker of the two colours.
I then used Rhinestones & Pearls to add some interest to the centre of the flowers and butterflies.
I added a sentiment to the front of the card from the And Many More stamp set. I choose the word Cheers..... but you could choose any sentiment you wish!
To finish, I then decorated the inside of the cards using the Papillon Potpourri and Lots of Thanks Stamp Sets.
