Ho Ho Ho Christmas Gift Bag - Pinkies Team Design Challenge using Stampin' Up! Punches

What a nightmare..... having had no wi-fi for almost a month, I have had to resort to buying a mobile wi-fi device for my home. There is still no progress on it being fixed (most of the housing estate are also suffering) so I am limited on when I can go online on my laptop. It also means no catch up TV, Christmas shopping on my mobile phone and massive data charges on both mine and my husbands mobile phones. Naturally blogging has had to suffer and this is really disappointing for me. Massive apologies to all my blog readers, fingers crossed it will be fixed in the New Year.
Anyway, here I am with my entry for this months Pinkies Team Design Challenge. How cute is this gift bag?
We've been challenged to use punching techniques and for my project I've used the Gift Bag Punch Board and the 2", 1 3/4" and 1/2" Circle Punches.
For the gift bag I cut the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper to 11" by 7" and used the medium setting on the punch board.

I work as a Finance Manger and there are 23 of us in the Finance department, 10 of which are in my direct team and I have a further 8 indirect team members. Its such a lovely team and we all get on really well. We're currently planning Christmas activities such as Secret Santa, Christmas Jumper Fridays and a Christmas buffet lunch. We already have two nights out in December, I need to get shopping for some festive outfits!
Anyway, enough about Christmas and back to Halloween. On Friday evening after everyone had left, I left a little bag of Halloween treats on every desk. I hope it brings a smile to everyone's faces when they come into work on Monday morning. Naturally I had to make myself one - here it is on my desk. And yes, there are two 27" monitors on my desk!
I thought it would be nice to have a bit of fun so I asked the team to come up with some ideas on what we can do. Unfortunately we can't do full on fancy dress as we have visitors in the building but we are accessorising! I have some devils horns and a red glittery stake!
Some of the team are also bringing in Halloween themed bakes. I've made puff pastry bakewell tarts, they were meant to look like pumpkins, with flaked almonds for eyes and a nose - but the orange food die did not come out very well so they are not very orange.. I'm looking forward to seeing the cookies and cakes everyone is making! Definitely off the diet today!
We're also having a pumpkin carving competition - I am terrible at carving but I do like to participate, so here is my entry. I kept it simple and trust me, close up, its not very good. I messed up the top so it has no lid - lesson learned for next year. I really can't wait to see what everyone has made! They are sure to be much better than this.
I've made some prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place using the Baker's Box Thinlit Dies but I forgot to photograph them. They were filled with chocolate treats and some popping candy. I used the Spider Web DSP from the Halloween Night Specialty DSP - the web pattern is silver embossed on black and this particular cardstock is thicker than the rest so it was perfect for this box.
Here are the treat bags I made - each has a tag which is hand stamped using the Spooky Fun stamp set and Ghoulish Grunge stamp set. I've stamped in Basic Black and Smoky Slate.
The Halloween Night Specialty DSP is so spooky this year. I love the combination of Basic Black, Basic Gray, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White and the patterns are really great with lots of variety.
Inside each bag are some popping candy spider chocolates, chocolate eyeballs and pumpkins and jellies. Oh, and a few plastic creepy crawlies!
As promised, here are my own little Halloween accessories Charlie & Bayley. I love my cats and they are always close by when I am in my craft room. Charlie often jumps in my photo studio so I encouraged him to sit down and I took some photos of him with one of the treat bags. I swear he knows I am taking a picture - look at that pose and stare into the camera!
Bayley, bless her, wasn't as comfortable as Charlie and this is the best photo I managed to get of her, She looks a little grumpy but I think she might have been scared of my photography lamps.
Bayley tends to sleep on a bean bag the whole time I'm crafting. Charlie comes and goes and surprises me several times a day by jumping on my craft table. I have to quickly grab my pookey tools and scissors and make sure they are safely put away. Charlie likes to demand attention and I think he sometimes is annoyed when I am engrossed in my work and not him. Bayley is just happy to be snoozing and enjoys a cuddle every few hours.

Two weeks ago I spent a lovely three days in Birmingham with my fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator friends. We spent the first day in the Bullring shopping centre and the next 2 days at a venue just across the road from Selfridges. My upline Michelle Last organised 2 days of crafty fun for us all which included a lovely project, 6 make and takes and a range of classes. It was such a good weekend and I can't wait to go again next year
There were 43 of us and as always, we all made swaps. I decided to make notebooks again and I was very happy with these. I felt this was a big improvement from the notebooks I made the previous year, take a look here to see them.
I made 9 of each colour way, which left me a few spare. Keep on reading to find out how to get how to get your hands on one of these.
These are my favourite and they were made using Blushing Bride cardstock, Blushing Bride ink and Sweet Sugarplum ink.
I used Mint Macaron cardstock and also Mint Macaron ink and Island Indigo ink for these.
Whilst these flowers are a shade of Rich Razzleberry, I chose to use Perfect Plum cardstock, Perfect Plum ink and Blushing Bride ink.
My second favourite - these were made using Island Indigo cardstock, Island Indigo ink and Crumb Cake ink
And finally, for these I used the new Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, Sweet Sugarplum ink and Perfect Plum ink.

I haven't had a chance to use the gold Wink of Stella glitter pen yet but I am so glad I picked it up today as I got this amazing effect on the butterfly die cut from Basic Black cardstock.
I also used my clear Wink of Stella Pen on some Vellum cardstock on the butterfly punched out with the Elegant Butterfly punch.
If you have been following my blog, you probably know that I love anything that sparkles. It just makes me happy, I can't explain why!

I was planning to blog about this cute little gift bag in the next few days so can you imagine how excited I was to find out the theme for this week was balloons! Yay!
So here I am blogging on my lunch break and entering this challenge #GDP023.
I used Lost Lagoon cardstock to make the gift bag with the gift bag punch board and I stamped the balloons in Pool Party, Lost Lagoon and Wisteria Wonder ink using the gorgeous Balloon Builder photopolymer stamp set. I then used my clear Wink of Stella pen to give the balloons and the banner a subtle shimmer. The Pool Party Glitter ribbon, I think, matches this perfectly.

Today's card showcases the Home For Christmas DSP, cardstock pack and the Cozy Christmas stamp set. All 3 coordinate together perfectly. I just LOVE how easy Stampin' Up! make it for us to coordinate our handmade makes with matching stamps, DSP, cardstock, ribbon and embellishments.
The coordinating product range is one of the main reasons I signed up as a demonstrator, almost two years ago now. That as well as the amazing discount, access to exclusive sneek peeks of new products and pre-orders, and the opportunity to attend events. Little did I know that I would make some really good friends that also share a passion for all things handmade.
Lots of friends and fellow demonstrators are currently over in Belgium at a Stampin' Up! event. Unfortunatley I wasn't able to go due to commitments at work and a severe lack of annual leave remaining. I can't tell you have envious I am but I cannot wait to hear all about it in the coming weeks.
To cut the centrepieces for these cards, I used the Ovals Collection Framelit Dies (for the card in the picture above) and the 2 1/2" and 2" Circle Punches (for the card in the picture below). Real Red and Mint Macaroon ink and cardstock matched perfectly with the DSP.
All of the stamps used are from the Cozy Christmas stamp set, as you can see in the image below, this set also includes a stamp of one of the little houses you can see in the DSP. I LOVE it! Some of these stamps are also going to be perfect for making tags for Christmas presents. I can't wait to get back into my craft room to give this a go. Unfortunatley that may not be until next week now as tomorrow is the first of two weekends where we will be working on decorating our living room and dining room. I can't say I am looking forward to it as its going to be hard work, but I can't wait to see the end results.
While writing this post, I've heard about the awful news in Paris. My thoughts are with the people of Paris and family and friends of all of those people affected.
Tomorrow I am going to the Quarterly Training event my upline Michelle Last holds for her first 3 levels of her downline. There are 30 of us going altogether so I've made enough swaps for everyone plus a few extra. I can't wait to go, we are going to have 4 make and takes, some additional classes and time to catch up with each other and share crafting stories.

This time I decided to make some gift bags to hold some yummy sweet treats. I looked through my DPS stacks and chose 8 coordinating colours - Pear Pizazz, Blushing Bride, Wisteria Wonder, Soft Sky & Pool Party (Subtles), Smokey Slate, Sahara Sand (Neutrals) & Lost Lagoon (In Colour 2014-16). While there are 4 different patterns in these stacks, I decided to use the diagonal striped pattern and the large polka dot pattern. I love these patterns, especially for Christmas!
I followed instructions from the Chic 'N' Scratch blog where Angie Juda posts video tutorials on how to make the bags.
I love the internet for inspiration - YouTube, Blogs, Pinterest, Twitter - its really helpful that demos share how they make gift boxes & bags. I often go to other demos sites for the measurements (why reinvent the wheel!) but I always come up with the design myself.
I have used the Holly Jolly Bundle which includes the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set and the Christmas Greetings Thinlit Dies. I love the sentiments cut out with these dies.

I have made some cute but deadly Halloween Treat Bags to show you today. I think these would be perfect to hold some sweets or chocolates for you to give to your friends and family on All Hallows' Eve.
You can make your gift bags (or boxes) whatever size you want (as long as you don't need your paper to be bigger than 12" x 12"). I've used the fantastic Happy Haunting DSP again which I've already showcased twice in two different projects - my Halloween Party Invitations and another version of a Treat Bag.
I have stamped the deadly poison bottles from the Sweet Hauntings stamp set onto Basic Black cardstock using Whisper White Craft ink. I managed to do some fussy cutting to cut out the poison bottles by hand. I layered the cut out images on top of a Tangelo Twist Scallop Circle and a 2" Circle punched out of Very Vanilla Cardstock, already stamped with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set using Tangelo Twist ink & Basic Black Archival ink.
I also stamped a gravestone (aka note tag) using the same method but punched this out with my Note Tag Punch and attached this to secure the bag with a Mini Metallic Clothespin.

Just a short blog post from me today, I've had a really busy weekend visiting family and have clocked up 400 miles in less than 24 hours. Tiredness has just hit me so please enjoy the pictures and I'll be back on Wednesday with another project.
For today's project I made two gifts bags using some different patterns out of the Timeless Elegance DSP. I added a glittery banner using Glimmer Paper and the Banner Tripple punch. I then took some wooden sentiments (they are called Expressions Natural Elements) and used Versamark Ink, Embossing Powder and my heat gun to add a lovely shiny embossed colour to the embellishment. To finish it off I punched a hole through the top and then used some of the lovely Satin Ribbon and Linen Thread to secure the bag.
So here it is, my brand new shiny series showcasing the gorgeous Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!. I have 7 different projects for you over the next 2 weeks and I really hope you enjoy them.
I LOVE this paper and I can honestly say that its the first paper that I've ever used up the entire pack . I normally hoard paper I love, I just can't seem to use it. It's like I am saving it all for a rainy day. Well this time I decided just to cut into it straight away. And since I decided that, I just kept using it and using it in my projects.
With all of my finished projects, I put them in my basket ready for photographing. Seeing them together made me realise that I had an opportunity to do another series.... so I added a few more projects so I had 7 in total - a few didn't make the cut but hey ho, we all know that when crafting things don't always look the way we envisaged them to. Some of the projects have been finished for a little while now and to be honest its been killing me having to patiently wait to show them to you.
I am really excited to show you today this gorgeous stationery tin I've made. Isn't it just fabulous?
Now I can't take credit for this gorgeous design, my upline Michelle Last created this as a project for our craft weekend in Birmingham way back in April. I've just taken Michelle's design and changed the colours to work with the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper. Click here to see Michelle's design.
I love Michelle's version and still have my pink tin in my craft room along with the yellow version we also made. Even though they would make great gifts, I just can't seem to be able to part with them - and I am glad as they gave me the inpsiration to make this tin.
You can buy these tins from Tinware Direct. I think its amazing how you can transform a metal tin with some beautfiul paper and a few accessories. I've used Black Glimmer Paper for the Banner & Flower and Basic Black Cardstock & Vellum Cardstock for the butterfly.
